MORE THAN READY, LEADING
Higher education should prepare students for more than a career. Through real-world learning, leadership, and service, The Texas A&M University System develops leaders of character ready to contribute, serve, and make a lasting impact.
PREPARED FOR WHAT COMES NEXT
Education should expand what graduates are capable of contributing, not simply what they are capable of earning. Across The Texas A&M University System, students build practical skills alongside the knowledge that comes with a university education. Applied learning and industry-recognized credentials help connect the classroom to careers. Leadership and service build judgment, responsibility, and character. And workforce-connected programs help prepare talent for the industries and communities that depend on it.
A&M System graduates become teachers, engineers, nurses, business leaders, public servants, and skilled professionals, putting their education to work across Texas and the nation.

ADDING SKILLS THAT TRAVEL WITH THE DEGREE
A university education builds knowledge for a lifetime. Adding practical, industry-recognized skills can help graduates put that knowledge to work from day one.
Through Career Academy Plus across all 12 A&M System universities, students can pursue industry-aligned learning and credentials alongside their academic programs. These opportunities help students demonstrate practical capabilities employers recognize while building on the broader knowledge their degrees provide.
It’s not about turning higher education into short-term job training. It’s about giving graduates more ways to move confidently from the classroom to a career.

PROVIDING TALENT FOR THE INDUSTRIES TEXAS IS BUILDING
Texas is growing in fields that demand specialized talent — from space and semiconductors to health, advanced energy, manufacturing, and national security. Across The Texas A&M University System, those priorities connect research, partnerships, and academic programs. That puts our universities in a position to prepare the engineers, scientists, technicians, health professionals, policy experts, and other leaders these industries need.
And much of that talent stays here. More than 94% of East Texas A&M University undergraduate alumni work in Texas, one example of how A&M System graduates strengthen the employers, economies, and communities that invested in their education.
PREPARING STUDENTS TO LEAD AND SERVE
Leadership requires more than expertise. It takes judgment, responsibility, service, and the ability to work with people who see the world differently. Across The Texas A&M University System, students develop those qualities through military service, civic engagement, experiential learning, and opportunities to engage constructively across differences. Each year, more than 275 military officers are commissioned across seven A&M System campuses. A systemwide Civil Discourse initiative also gives students opportunities to listen, question, challenge ideas, and practice respectful disagreement.
Through the Public Policy Scholars Program, selected A&M System students take that preparation to Washington, D.C., combining Bush School coursework with policy internships three days a week.
These experiences prepare students not only to build successful careers, but to accept responsibility, serve others, and lead with character.
