FOR EVERY MISSION, MORE.
Behind every breakthrough, every student prepared to lead, every community strengthened, and every challenge met is the collective strength of The Texas A&M University System. More people working together. More expertise brought to bear. More knowledge and resources put to work where they matter most. Across our universities, state agencies, and institutions, that means greater opportunity, stronger solutions, and lasting impact for Texas and the nation.EDUCATION IS ONLY THE BEGINNING
The Texas A&M University System is one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation. With a $9.1 billion annual budget, we bring together 12 universities, a comprehensive health science center, eight state agencies, Texas A&M–Fort Worth, Texas A&M–RELLIS, and nine other member institutions to take on the challenges that matter most.
MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO FORM LEADERS OF CHARACTER
More than 184,000 students pursue their education across the A&M System each year, gaining the knowledge, skills and experiences to lead, serve and contribute to a rapidly changing world.
MORE RESEARCH AND INNOVATION THAT TURN DISCOVERY INTO PROGRESS
With $1.6 billion in annual research expenditures, the A&M System advances discovery across disciplines and connects ideas, expertise and partnerships to challenges with real-world consequences.
MORE SERVICE THAT STRENGTHENS COMMUNITIES AND CREATES OPPORTUNITY
Through statewide agencies, university expertise, and hubs such as Texas A&M–Fort Worth and RELLIS, the A&M System connects education, research, industry, and public-sector partners to move ideas from discovery to deployment, strengthening communities and industries, preparing the workforce, and advancing testing and real-world application.
Those same capabilities extend to national missions through partnerships supporting Los Alamos National Laboratory and the Pantex Plant for the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. Together, this creates a pathway few systems can match — from the classroom and laboratory to proving grounds, communities and national security missions. It is how the A&M System turns knowledge into action at extraordinary scale, creating greater impact for Texas and the nation.

A RARE DISTINCTION. A BROADER MISSION.
The Texas A&M University System includes one of only 24 institutions in the nation to hold land-, sea-, and space-grant designations. More than a rare distinction, these designations reflect a shared commitment and responsibility to put knowledge to work for Texas and the nation.
- Land-grant institutions improve agriculture, engineering, and community development, helping strengthen industries and support communities across Texas.
- Sea-grant institutions advance the health and sustainability of our coasts, oceans, and waterways, protecting natural resources and strengthening coastal economies.
- Space-grant institutions expand research and innovation in aerospace, science, and technology, preparing the workforce and advancing discoveries that shape the future.
But the real strength is in how these missions connect. Advances in agriculture can draw on engineering and technology. Coastal research can strengthen disaster preparedness and economic resilience. Aerospace discoveries can create new tools, industries, and opportunities here on the ground. Each mission strengthens the others.
Those connections reach even farther through the A&M System. Combined with national partnerships through USDA, NOAA, NASA, and others, this interconnected network turns knowledge into practical solutions — strengthening Texas from its farms and communities to its coastline and beyond.
BUILT ON SERVICE. DRIVEN TO DO MORE.
Rooted in rich traditions of excellence, leadership, and honorable service, The Texas A&M University System was officially established in 1948 to unite institutions with a shared mission: advance education, research and public service. As the A&M System has grown, so has its power to meet complex challenges, expand opportunity and make a lasting difference across Texas, the nation and beyond. Today, our universities, state agencies, and institutions carry that tradition forward. Together, we prepare leaders, drive discovery, and answer the call to serve.
