Updated Summer Training Calendar – IMPORTANT

| | |

As a result of the U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) delay in releasing the new regulations on Title IX, we are now having to make adjustments to our training calendar for this summer. As of this morning, the following training calendar is in effect. Please bookmark this article, as it will be continually updated until all training programs have been scheduled.

Here are updates on our training calendar, as previously scheduled:

May 23 & 24 – Civil Rights Officer Training (Webex) – This training is heavily dependent upon our knowing the details of the new regulations and is postponed until ED has released the new regulations. This will be the first training scheduled once the regulations have been released.

June 6, 7, & 8 – Investigator Training (HSC) – This training is not as dependent upon the new regulations and will be taking place as originally scheduled.

UPDATE: Registration information for Investigator Training has been emailed to members and is also available on a separate blog posting.

June 13 and August 3 – Advisor Training (Webex) – This training is postponed until ED has released the new regulations.

June 15 – Advocate & Ombuds Training (Webex) – This training is postponed until ED has released the new regulations. Once rescheduled, we are likely to offer separate online training programs for each audience.

June 21 – Violence/Threat Assessment Training (Webex) – This training is postponed until ED has released the new regulations.

June 27, 28, & 29 – Civil Rights Hearings Training (HSC) – This training is postponed until ED has released the new regulations.

July 11, 12, & 13 – Informal Resolution / Facilitation (Webex) – This training will be taking place as originally scheduled. A registration form will be announced shortly.

July 18, 19, & 20 – Informal Resolution / Mediation (TIPS) – This training will be taking place as originally scheduled. A registration form will be announced shortly.

July 25 & 26 – Informal Resolution / Restorative Practices (HSC) – This training will be taking place as originally scheduled. A registration form will be announced shortly.

August 1 & 2 – Civil Rights Designated Administrator Training (Webex) – This training will be taking place as originally scheduled. A registration form will be announced shortly.

It is impossible to set new dates for the postponed programs until we have a better sense of what ED’s timeline is for releasing the Title IX regulations. As previously noted, once the regulations are submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review, we will see this in the public domain and know that a clock of 30 to 90 days is in motion, after which time OMB will send the regulations back to ED, who will make any needed changes and then submit the regulations to the Federal Register for publication. We will be sure to update you once we have seen ED’s submission to OMB.

Thank you for your patience as we adapt to this less-than-predictable regulatory environment.
