Joseph A. Brown
Joseph (Joe) is the Assistant General Counsel of Oil & Gas for the Property and Construction section. In his role, Joe advises the System Land Management Office (SLMO) in all matters relating to the Oil, Gas and Energy law sector, specifically in regards to the A&M System negotiations of oil, gas and mineral leases, easements, rights-of-way, access permits, damage settlement agreements, water use agreements, solar and photovoltaic development agreements, geothermal development agreements, carbon capture and sequestration agreements for the mineral development and production of all natural resources located within the boundaries of A&M System lands.
Joe joined the Office of General Counsel in 2022. Prior to joining OGC, he was a private practitioner and focused primarily in the Oil, Gas and Energy Law sector, advising oil & gas operators and private land owners. His law practice also advised landowners and small businesses in Real Estate Law and Corporate Law.
In addition, Joe is a petroleum landman focusing on surface and mineral title work along with lease negotiations.
