Texas A&M University-Commerce

Texas A&M University-Commerce, founded in 1889, is home to northeast Texas’ only industrial engineering program and bachelor’s degree in wildlife and conservation science. An innovative partnership allows students to remain at the Navarro College campus in Corsicana and complete bachelor’s and master’s degrees. This partnership has graduated much-needed public school teachers for the central Texas region.

  • Texas A&M University-Commerce is the fifth oldest university in the state and offers a unique blend of traditional and hybrid learning opportunities at the main campus in Commerce and at offsite locations in Corsicana, downtown Dallas, Mesquite and Midlothian, as well as many fully accredited online programs.
  • Undergraduates conduct research alongside graduate students and world class professors in the new $29 million Science Building. The building’s planetarium has welcomed more than 50,000 visitors since opening in 2006.
  • The $12 million Morris Recreation Center rivals fitness centers in the big cities and features the latest exercise equipment, racquetball and basketball courts, jogging track, pool and 45-foot climbing wall.
  • The new Sam Rayburn Student Center is scheduled to open in the fall and will feature wireless connections, a food court and other modern amenities.
  • Groundbreaking for a new $23 million music hall will take place in 2008. The music hall complex will be the cultural centerpiece of the Northeast Texas region and will provide superior learning opportunities for music majors for decades to come.
