London Fire Brigade Trained
at Texas-Based Disaster City

Urban search and rescue personnel from the London Fire Brigade are relying on training received at the Texas Engineering Extension Service’s (TEEX) Disaster City in their response to today’s terrorist attacks. TEEX, a member of The Texas A&M University System, has trained 178 urban search and rescue specialists from the London Fire Brigade at Disaster City in a partnership that dates back to June 2003.

Texas Forest Service Fire Crew Sends Greeting to Iraq

The Texas Forest Service Lone Star State Incident Management Team and firefighters battling the Davis Mountain Complex fires gathered to send a Memorial Day message to the troops in Iraq. Texas Forest Service Regional Fire Coordinator Doug Orms is an Apache helicopter pilot stationed in Iraq, and Russ Stoddard, husband of procurement unit leader Betty Stoddard, is also stationed in Baghdad.
