Credit card numbers are being compromised more and more each day. As a result, FAMIS has responded to a change enhancement request that Customer A/R numbers be protected from unnecessary display on all FAMIS accounts payable and purchasing screens.
In order to do this, a new element security control has been added to the Customer A/R fields on the A/P Screens 105, 111, 112, 114, 115, 168, and 345. This new element security must be turned on for any individual that needs to see the Customer A/R number on these screens.
The new element security is not necessary to view the Customer A/R number on either Screens 340 and 341, however. In order for a person to see the Customer A/R number on these screens the user must have UPDATE access to the purchasing document. If a person has inquiry only access to either the document or the screen, the Customer A/R number will not be displayed.
You will need to contact your FAMIS Security Officers to request permission to see Customer A/R numbers on the AP and Purchasing screens.
