News from FAMIS (June 2009)

Country Codes

FAMIS Services has converted to the use of the ISO standard for identifying countries with a country code. Existing country codes on FAMIS records, such as the vendor address, will be changed programmatically from the existing code to the ISO standard. Be aware that codes that exist on the current table MAY have a different country in the ISO standard.

We caution you to 'look up' all new vendor addresses and not rely on your memory for the correct code, as it may have changed.

Examples of changes to the ISO standard code:

Country
FAMIS
Code
ISO
Standard Code
Austria AU AT
Ashmore & Cartier Islands -- AU
Bermuda BD BM
Bangladesh -- BD
Burma (now Myanmar) BM MM

Other common country codes will change: Japan, Costa Rica, Ireland, Denmark, Israel, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Scotland, etc.

The complete list for selecting the appropriate ISO codes is available by pressing either the PF2 key on the field (for inquiry access) or type a question mark (?) in the field to see valid values for the Country Code field.

Hummingbird Tips

You can create multiple profiles in Hummingbird and NAME them to correspond with the file you are uploading – this way you don’t have to do the change directory step in Hummingbird. You also know when you select that particular FTP Profile, the file is going to the right place.

Welcome New Campuses
