Schedule of Events – 2009-10 Academic Year*

End of 2009 Spring Semester
SGA Elections on all System Campuses; the President from each Institution/Health Science Center submits names of CSAB member and alternate for the 2009-10 academic year to the Chancellor by May 4, 2009.    Texas A&M University hosting Annual System Student Affairs Symposium, “The Power of 10”, from May 20-22, 2009, on the TAMU Campus, College Station.

MAY 20:  2:00 p.m.  Orientation for newly appointed 2009-10 CSAB members – to meet each other and learn about the CSAB organization and its role and responsibilities; meet with Chancellor McKinney.
Location:    A&M System Bldg., 2nd Floor, Office of General Counsel Conference Room
Dinner Event:  Invitation from Chancellor & Mrs. McKinney’s, 6:00 p.m., The Reed House.

MAY 21-22:  Attend CSAB Counterpart Sessions at System Student Affairs Symposium on TAMU Campus.  The previous years’ CSAB Chair or System Liaison presides over the CSAB meetings until a new chair is elected.  The scheduled CSAB meetings will cover the following issues:

  • Election of CSAB Officers for 2009-10 academic year
  • Review of CSAB’s 2008-09goals; and
  • Set goals for 2009-10 year
  • Visit with current Student Regent Anthony Cullins

In addition to carrying out CSAB business, members also will attend the annual symposium’s general sessions.  The newly elected CSAB officers will be announced during Wednesday evening dinner event.  TAMU’s CSAB members are in charge of the social functions for all CSAB members.

2009 Summer period
Newly elected CSAB Chair (and other Board officers as necessary) work(s) with the CSAB Advisors (Student Affairs and System) to plan for upcoming year’s activities, which include:

  • updating, as necessary, Constitution and Bylaws, goals and membership roster - distributing to all CSAB members, System Student Affairs officers and administrative advisors, and the Chancellor
  • meeting with the Chancellor to review and discuss the proposed 2009-10 CSAB goals; and
  • scheduling of monthly CSAB TTVN meetings for Fall and Spring Semesters

2009 Fall Semester   
Begin monthly TTVN meetings of CSAB
Group Meeting of CSAB in College Station -- September  2009  in conjunction with the A&M System Board of Regents meeting; presentation of CSAB Goals (by Chair) and campus reports (by Student Body Presidents) to the Board of Regents and all Board attendees; group and officer photographs will be taken for CSAB website
Follow-up Activity:  Discussion on CSAB focus by CSAB Executive Committee members and respective advisors and other possible activities; VCs for Research & Assessment and for Administration work on relevant projects as applicable

2010 Spring Semester          
First Meeting of newly appointed 2010-11 CSAB Group – Date to be determined.  Annual System Student Affairs Symposium will not be held in May of 2010 because of budget cuts.
