Schedule of Events – 2007-08 Academic Year

End of Spring Semester (2007) 

SGA Elections on all System Campuses; the President from each Institution/Health Science Center, submits names of CSAB member and alternate for the 2007-2008 academic year to the Chancellor.

MAY 16:  2:00 – 5:00 p.m.  Orientation for newly appointed 2007-08 CSAB members – to meet each other and learn about the CSAB organization and its role and responsibilities.  Location: Sheraton Suites Houston, 2400 West Loop South, Houston 

MAY 16-18:  Attend special events and CSAB Counterpart Sessions at System Student Affairs Symposium.  The previous years’ CSAB Chair or System Liaison presides over the CSAB meetings until a new chair is elected.  The scheduled CSAB meetings will cover the following issues:

  • Election of CSAB Officers for 2007-08 academic year
  • Review of CSAB’s 2006-07 goals; and
  • Set goals for 2007-08 year

In addition to carrying out CSAB business, members also will attend the annual symposium’s general and counterpart sessions.  PVAMU’s CSAB members are in charge of the social functions for all CSAB members.

Summer period (2007)

Newly elected CSAB Chair (and other Board officers as necessary) work(s) with the CSAB Advisors (Student Affairs and System) to plan for upcoming year’s activities, which include:

  • updating, as necessary, Constitution and Bylaws, goals and membership roster - distributing to all CSAB members, System Student Affairs officers and administrative advisors, and the Chancellor
  • meeting with the Chancellor to review and discuss the proposed 2007-08 CSAB goals, accompanied by CSAB Advisors; and
  • scheduling of monthly CSAB TTVN meetings for Fall and Spring Semesters

2007 Fall Semester      

Begin monthly TTVN meetings of CSAB

Group Meeting of CSAB in College Station -- September 27-28, 2007 in conjunction with the A&M System Board of Regents meeting; presentation of CSAB Goals (by Chair) and campus reports (by Student Body Presidents) to the Board of  Regents and all Board attendees; group and officer photographs will be taken for CSAB website

Follow-up Activity: Discussion about CSAB trip by CSAB Executive Committee members and respective advisors and other possible activities; VCs for Research & Assessment and for Administration work on relevant projects as applicable

2008 Spring Semester         

Continuation of monthly TTVN meetings:  February, March and April, 12 noon.
Provide report for Chancellor’s Century Council annual meeting; identify CSAB attendees for Chancellor’s Office

Group Meeting of CSAB – May 14-16, 2008; to be held during the annual System Student Affairs Symposium; Campus of Texas A&M International University-Laredo
